Sweden more American than America?

Swedens government anounced on Saturday that it will cut taxes to stimulate their job market.  As part of a four part cut in taxes.  When the forth part comes into effect in 2010, 99 percent of full-time employees will have had their taxes reduced by 1,000 kronor ( about $144.00) per month.

"The coalition government has agreed on reforms for jobs and entrepreneurialism that will increase employment in the long term.  It has to be more profitable to work and more companies should be able to hire employees," the government said

What exactly is my job?

While working at the cafeteria, one of my two part time jobs, last week, I had the joy of breaking up yet another fight bewteen a couple of male students. In the process I took two punches to the face and jammed one finger.  After breaking up the fight, I escorted the to boys to the office and went back to my "real" job, helping one of the cashiers take cash and watch for students trying not to pay for lunch.  A few days go by and I read a bus driver friends blog and a question came to my mind as well as his.  What exactly is my job?  Is it my job to pick up and deliver student to and from school?  Is it my job to take money and watch for thieves in the lunch line? Or is it my job to intervene in the lives of the students who ride my bus?  Is it my job to teach manners and respect to these childern?  Is it my job to prevent students from hurting one another or others around them?  Are any or all of these my job?  In a word, yes.  I did not hire on to make sure my bus riders are happy, but it is rewarding to make a child having a rough day to smile or maybe even feel better about the day they have had.  I did not hire on at the cafeteria to be punched in the face, but I can not stand by and let two student hurt themselves or other students around them, while the other Mid-High staff refuse to intervene.  I try to down play my role as a "warden" at the Mid-High lunch room,  but after each fight I break up the word gets out really fast and the stories and rumors about me have been pretty humorous.  I have to say that working with kids of all ages has been completely different than I ever imagined.  So as many of you out there know, especailly when working with kids, your job you hire on for may not have anything to do with what is your actual job.

The true story of Labor Day!

In Pullman, Illinois, a company town that employed and housed workers to build posh railway cars, times had gotten tough.  In response, George Pullman cut jobs and wages in 1893.  Thousands of workers walked off their jobs in protest, demanding higher saleries and lower rent.  Other unions joined in refusing to work on the Pullman cars, turning a small town fracas into a national fury. 

With railcars backing up and riots worrying train execs, President Grover Cleveland stepped in.  He declared the strike illegal and sent 12,000 troops to break the strike.  Brutal protest and bloodshed followed.  The strke was broken, along with the spirit of the workers.  To reach out to the Labor Unions, Congress rushed the national holiday into law.  The bad will resulted in President Cleveland losing re-election.  But the national holiday remained.

No COLA for Seasoned Citizens?

Is it just me or has the announcement, that there will not be a Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) for at least the next two years, the first time since 1975, come at a peculiar time? This current Presidential administration has done everything it can to ram "OBAMACARE" down the throats of the "DUMB MASSES" Now that the mostly "OBLIVIOUS" public finally awakened and realized what was being forced on them, not just socialized medicine but historic high/economy killing tax increases, the "GOV'MENT" has now had to back off and try to "REORGANIZE" with a new tactic to sell the American people a health care bill that they do not want or need, especially at this time of economic unrest. This administration seems hell-bent on turning this country into a giant piglet sucking on the government tit! So now the "Scare-the-old-people" tactic comes out of the DUMBOCRAT play book. AMAZING!

As summer comes upon us, so does knowing that football season is soon to follow and another wonderful year in the history of Oklahoma State . It's another year of making that trek to Stillwater to remember all fun times and to relive few. It's another reason to wear orange - and to remember what wearing that color means to you. The color is a symbol, something that brings all of us together. Orange is that day that you moved into the dorms as a freshman - with the lines for the elevator and overall electricity about the campus. It's meeting those friends that would stick with you for life. It's remembering those dorm buildings, even though they may not be there anymore. It's wearing orange the Friday before that first game - and every Friday after that. It's Barry Sanders, John Smith, Garth Brooks , Mike Gundy, Eddie Sutton, Desmond Mason.it's you and me. Orange is putting your arm around the shoulder of the stranger next to you to sing the Alma Mater. It's watching the most beautiful black horse race down a football field. It's making the switch to saying "Power" instead of " Orange ." It's remembering Lewis Field, and admiring Boone Pickens Stadium. Orange is a

President Obama and the Dumbocrates have made overhauling the health care system a top priority and the President expects to have legislation on his desk by October. According to Bloomberg.com today, the House Health-Care Bill will include $600 BILLION in TAX INCREASES and $400 BILLION in CUTS to MEDICARE AND MEDICAID! I was under the impression that health care under the "NEW" administration was going to be "FREE" and that "WE" where going to make dramatic improvements in health care for all Americans, not increased taxes and decrease Medicare and Medicaid benefits by billions of dollars.

Ways and Means Committee Chairman, Charles Rangel (D-NY), said that the measure's cost will reach beyond the $634 BILLION proposed by President Obama as a down payment for the policy changes. When asked if the cost to overhaul the health care system would be more than a TRILLION, Rangel said, "the answer is yes."

The HYPOCRISY of the left in this country is a subject that I sometimes ponder. Here are a few things that I see as hypocritical on the part of the left leaning citizens of this great country. Smoking marijuana is completely OK, but smoking or using tobacco products (unless you are of Native American descent and smoking for your religion or manufacturing for profit) are almost considered domestic terrorism. The death penalty, water boarding terror suspects, and prison sentences for child molesters are not acceptable, but abortion on demand for any reason should be accepted and even encouraged. Freedom of speech should be extended to everyone, especially terrorist (both foreign and domestic), illegal immigrants, socialist, communist, anti-war protesters, homosexuals, and liberals from all walks of life, but the average American family, Christians, military personnel (both active and veterans), capitalist, California beauty pageant contestants, and any other conservative leaning citizen. Increased taxes on the "RICH" are always welcomed, because "WE" need to get even with the "EVIL RICH" people in this country, who have truly won life's lottery and "SPREAD THE WEALTH" to the poor, the downtrodden, and the underprivileged. The government should also put increased taxes on pop, chips, tobacco, Big Macs, gasoline and beer, because poor people don't use these "UNHEALTHY" products and if they do the government should supplement their income so they can afford to use these products. I don't know about you but I find these things extremely confusing and troubling. These are just a few things I have touched on here. I have not touched on animal rights wackos, or the new religion of the eco-terrorist, global warming. The HYPOCRISY knows no bounds! I fear no one is listening!

According to usatoday.com (5-29-2009) : The average (tax paying) household has a 12% increase in federal debt this year due to an explosion of federal borrowing during the recession.

The government took on (spent) 6.8 TRILLION dollars in NEW obligations in 2008, pushing the total owed by the U.S. government to a record 63.8 TRILLION dollars.

Social Security will have an increase of 1 to 2 MILLION recipients per year through 2032. The average benefit in 2008 : $12,089

Medicare will have an increase of more than 1 MILLION recipients per year starting in 2011 when the baby boomers hit 65. The average benefit in 2008 : $11,018

Pension and health care programs for military and civil servants has an increase in unfunded obligation of 300 BILLION per year since 2003. The total to date : 5.3 TRILLION DOLLARS

Boy, let a white male nominee say something like that!

On Friday (5-29-2009) President Obama flatly told NBC news : "I am sure she would have restated that".

Sen Richard Shelby of Alabama said Friday (5-29-2009) "The government should have allowed the marketplace to decide General Motor's fate and that huge federal stake in the company puts Washington on the road to socialism".

Well, no shit.

This begs another question. With the current agreement with GM's bondholders, the government would maintain about 75% ownership in General Motors, is it now Un-American to buy American?

Markets Unstable? I can't imagine why?

For the past couple of months and really since the new CAFE standards for the automobile industry have been announced, the gas prices around here have been jumping up and down like a 1st grader on a three day sugar binge. Gas will jump up in nickles and dimes and then dribble down in pennies. Over the last week I have witnessed no less than THREE price changes in one day and not just increases. Example : Early morning prices for regular unleaded - $2.09/gal Mid day prices - $2.15/gal Evening prices - $2.08/gal Next morning $2.15/gal Mid day - $2.25/gal Evening prices - $2.14/gal. I have never seen anything like it. I hope you all have your BASH HATS. You are going to need them before we get though this.

That is the confidence our government inspires in our already struggling economy! All we need now is for the continued push to socialize 1/3 of the U.S. economy with a complete overhaul of the health care system.

The problem is COMPETENCE!

Competence : The quality of being competent; adequacy; possession of required skill, knowledge, qualification, or capacity.

The problem with this is that the current Presidential administration possesses none nor does it believe that the people of the United States of America possess any as well.

They do not believe that you are capable of choosing the right car to drive, the right food to eat, or the right doctor to see. We are headed down a dark path of compliance or elimination. You will comply or we will eliminate all other choices and you will comply.

You will drive a "golf cart". Your car will get 50 MPG, but it will not be safe to drive on any than other that a sidewalk. You will be a "vegan". If you are a female you will not be allowed to weigh more than 110 LBS at maturity and males will only be allowed to weigh 140 LBS at maturity no matter what your frame size. You will not be allowed see the doctor except for when and were the government tells you that you can.

The best part is that it will all be "FREE"..., BUT WE WILL NOT BE!

You run a campaign on change , but the only change I see is that you want to change America from a free Represenative Republic to a socialist/communist society that limits freedom and punishes achievement. You also ran your campaign on hope, but again I see no policies, beliefs, or leadership that inspires hope in anyone except for the takers and users of which you invoke wealth envy and hope that you will take away from the "RICH" and give to the "POOR". All that really means to me is that if you are a producer/earner of "WEALTH" then you are about to be penialized for your hard work and achievements. You put a Federal buget and spending plan together that will enslave my grand childern with more that 800 BILLION in yearly interest on the money you have planned to spend in you first and hopefully last term as President of the United States of America. You also make huge changes in the way things are run in Washington be putting most of the Clinton adminstration right back into cabnet positions. You then start gearing up talks with all of the enimies of the US, but refuse to sit down and talk to people in your own country that are not in the same political party and then tell everyone that you are trying to unit and cross pary lines to get "THINGS" done for all the "PEOPLE". You go on a trip around the world appologizing for the US of A and shake hands, bow down, and smile at every communist/socialist leader you can find and listen to them tell you how arrogant that Americans are and you just smile and nod in agreement. You accepted advise from as well as a gYou say that you want "AFFORDABLE" health care for everyone in America. Sir we already have the finest health care in the world for the dollars spent and don't tell me people are denied access to medical treatments because anyone can go to any E.R. at any hospital in America and will be treated for what ever his or her illness, regaurdless of the ability to pay. No, our health care system is not perfect but it is a hell of a lot better than the V.A. or Indian hospitals that the government is in charge of running currently!

Mr President Why Do You Hate America?

Mr. President why do you hate America? You run a campaign on change , but the only change I see is that you want to change America from a free Representative Republic to a socialist/communist society that limits freedom and punishes achievement. You also ran your campaign on hope, but again I see no policies, beliefs, or leadership that inspires hope in anyone except for the takers and users of which you invoke wealth envy and hope that you will take away from the "RICH" and give to the "POOR". All that really means to me is that if you are a producer/earner of "WEALTH" then you are about to be penalized for your hard work and achievements. You put a Federal budget and spending plan together that will enslave my grand children with more that 800 BILLION in yearly interest on the money you have planned to spend in you first and hopefully last term as President of the United States of America. You also make huge changes in the way things are run in Washington be putting most of the Clinton administration right back into cabinet positions. You then start gearing up talks with all of the enemies of the US, but refuse to sit down and talk to people in your own country that are not in the same political party and then tell everyone that you are trying to unit and cross party lines to get "THINGS" done for all the "PEOPLE". You go on a trip around the world apologizing for the US of A and shake hands, bow down, and smile at every communist/socialist leader you can find and listen to them tell you how arrogant that Americans are and you just smile and nod in agreement. You accepted advise from as well as a gift (a book about how America is the source of all evil in the world) from a leader who called our last President "The devil" and acted like you were old friends from college. I guess you are a lot like another Democrat President we had in the late seventies, in that you to have not met a communist dictator you didn't like. You say that you want "AFFORDABLE" health care for everyone in America. Sir, we already have the finest health care system in the world for the dollars spent and don't tell me people are denied access to medical treatments because anyone can go to any E.R. at any hospital in America and will be treated for what ever his or her illness, regardless of the ability to pay. That is Federal law! No, our health care system is not perfect but it is a hell of a lot better than the V.A. or Indian hospitals that the government is in charge of running currently! You want the Catholic Health Care Initiative to be abolished. This initiative allows Catholic or other Christian based health care providers to be able to have State and Federal funding assistance and not be mandatory for the physicians to perform abortions in those hospitals. I have no problem with you pulling Federal funds away from these hospital, but these hospitals are for the most part serving the very poor and homeless population. So, if you force these hospitals to stop receiving State and Federal monies then you are in fact refusing people health care, of which you seem so set on providing to everyone. You say you are going to give tax breaks to 95% of the people in the US. You can't even be honest about the so called wage increase benefit you instituted giving people $16.00 of their own money per check and then not telling anyone that you are not changing the withholding tax rates and that they will still be responsible for the taxes on said monies. Your so called "TAX ON THE RICH" is really a tax on small business that make most of the jobs in our economy. So you are in effect putting people out of work, causing people to not have confidence in US economic stability therefore causing most people to pull out of the stock market when they hit break even or close to it. Then you tell GM and Chrysler that if they want Federal funds, you will be calling the shots and while they seem to be complying you still don't like what the CEO of GM is telling you so if you are going to loan them any more money he has to go! I have never heard of such arrogance before and hope I never will, but I am afraid that you are only just getting started with these people. For the most part it is their fault for "getting in bed" with you and your cronies, but that does not give you the right to nationalize these companies. If you have your way I am quite sure that we the "LITTLE" people will all be driving Smart cars and all of you in the "RULING CLASS" will be driving and flying what ever it is you want. Like you taking Air Farce one, a Boeing 747, to Colorado to speak at an "EARTH DAY" event. What a FARCE! You then do something that I am still trying to understand how someone who has achieved some much in this great land of ours, stoop so low as to tell the world including our enemies the techniques that we use to interrogate prisoners and enemy combatants to obtain information on terrorist activities. Information that saved L.A. ,and the millions of people that live there, from an terrorist attack much like 9-11. Then to say that you are investigating the officers that ordered and carried out these interrogations is just disgusting! All of this in under 100 days. You must be proud. You have taken the greatest country in the world and turned it into a "PAPER TIGER" through the eyes of the rest of the world. Will we survive it Mr President? Is that your plan? Why do you want America to fail? Why do you want individual achievement to replaced by national apathy? Mr President I ask again, why do you hate America?

We have been put on notice!!!!!!

The Department of Homeland Security released a report on April 7th that has put all conservatives on notice that we are being watched and that our way of thinking will not be tolerated! The report: Rightwing Extremism : Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment states many things about "conservatives" that are less than flattering. The report seems to be an attempt to lump all "conservatives" into one large white supremacist/violent anti government ball of hatred. Quote : "The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremist capable of caring out violent attacks." So...gun owners and military veterans are potential terrorist, but people that hi-jack U.S. freighters in international waters at gun point are pirates/misguided/underprivileged/merchant marine organizers? HUH? Another quote : "Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups. movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented and those that are primarily antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion and immigration." Wow...So...If you are against abortion (Christians), Immigration (Law abiding citizen), or are in favor of state-right to govern themselves, (Republicans and Libertarians) you are now part of a group of people that the government of the United States of America thinks could be part of a terrorist network. Anyone one read 1984? You will comply or else! Anyone remember Stalin and the "Iron Curtain"?

One last thought : I was under the impression that the Obama Administration was supposed to stop all of the polarization of the country and unify everyone under the banner of "HOPE and CHANGE".

Happy Resurrection Day!

It's spring time and the IDIOTS are BLOOMIN'!

Today at the local QT, my son and I witnessed the first of many BLOOMIN' IDIOTS of the spring. We were exiting my jeep when this old rattle trap Japanese model car pulled in beside us and nearly hit the passenger side door my son was opening. So we waited and boy where we rewarded for or patients! A male and a female, supposedly human, exited their "vehicle" and started for the entrance to the QT. I then realized that the male suspected human was trying very hard to be a white trash version of a Mexican gang member and the female suspected human was trying hard to walk around in public totally butt naked! She was wearing an off-white, low-cut, v-neck top that was whisper thin and no bra in sight. Let me just say that her thermal indicators were working properly at 40 degrees this morning. Her choice of lower garment was no better. She had a micro-micro-mini skirt that did not cover all of her "Mud Flaps" and I was in no way up to seeing what it did not cover in the front. If this female had on under wear I was quite sure she could feel them in the back of her throat, because that is how far up her butt she had to have had them pulled! Not so much fun trying to explain to your 8 year old son why some one would dress that way in public! WOW!!!!!! OBLIVIOUS!!!!!! I am getting OLD!!!!!!!

BOOBS at the the used book store!

Two or three times a month me and my lovely family take a trip to the used book store in Tulsa. We really enjoy looking for the wonderful treasures that can be found on ever shelf in this really old, kinda musty, and very large building at 44th and Mingo road. The last trip into this wonderland of endless adventure we had the pleasure to watch a woman with a small child sitting at the end of an aisle each having lunch. The woman was enjoying a sandwich and the baby its mother breast in full view of anyone in the immediate area of the Western Classic section or the New Age Religion section of this used book paradise! I am by no means suggesting that it is not a beautiful thing and that I have never seen such an act. Quite the opposite. I was never so taken by the beauty of nature as when my wife was nourishing my infant son, but not in the middle of WAL-MART! These people really do concern me. Her and her husband appeared to be daring anyone in the store to make a comment to them so that they could make a scene in this place of book bliss. Then I am quite sure they would march to the counter of the book oasis and make the lives of the college students running the counters a living hell for a good half an hour. I would not be equally surprised if they would not call the news papers and/or the news stations in Tulsa to complain about the rough treatment received at the hands of the book mongers at 44th and Mingo. And lawsuits to follow I'm sure. These people are BOOBS!

HOPE? What Hope?

America voted for: "Change we can believe in!" and "HOPE!". Well now that the election is over and nothing can really be done about the results, we are going to go right back to the same old "Dumbocrat" play book!

"If we do not pass this "THE BIGGEST ECONOMIC STIMULUS" (pork barrel spending/"Dumbocrat" election payoff/completely socialist/most irresponsible) package in the history of this country, the country may not recover from this recession/depression!" Man, with a message of "HOPE" like that, I can hardly believe this "ECONOMIC CRISIS" is not over by now! I mean what else can you say about that really? What an incredible way to inspire a nation on the verge of the worst economic crisis in its history?

Our new President in the first few days of his term in office has said the he will meet with the enemies of the United States "UNCONDITIONALLY", but the time for talk is over when it comes to the "ECONOMIC STIMULUS" package.

Hope!? Change!? Sad! Really Sad!

Why not, we are going to get screwed anyway!

Millions of dollars for contraception? Yep, contraception is a stimulus to the U.S. economy! Man am I glad the Dumbocrats are in charge. I don't have to worry about anything ever again! I think that if we are going to spend millions on contraception for an economic stimulus we might as well spend a couple of million on a little lube as well! Why not, we are going to get screwed anyway!

What's with all this "BAILOUT" crap?"

I just do not understand why it is that "WE" as a nation have to be responsible for every ones financial well being in this country. We have spent and will spend "BILLIONS and BILLIONS" to "BAIL OUT" people and corporations that can not make it on their own and I for one am at a loss as to why we the "TAXPAYERS" are asked to help these people/corporations out. I do not expect anyone to come to my aid if I make poor financial choices and end up in bankruptcy. So why is that everyone, from HOME OWNERS to SALLIE MAE/FREDDIE MAC to the BIG THREE AUTO MAKERS, needs my money to continue operating? I know that it is harsh and cold to suggest that we should just let these people and corporations fold and millions of people be homeless and jobless, but WE CAN NOT CONTINUE TO POUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS INTO BAIL OUT SCHEMES LIKE THIS AND CONTINUE TO HAVE A HEALTHY ENCONOMY MUCH LESS HAVE A HEALTHY COUNTRY!

If we let these major corporations, financial institutions, and bad mortgage holders "GO BELLY UP" yeah, it is going to hurt the country and the economy and people will be homeless and jobless, but I know that other corporations, financial institutions, good mortgage holders will step in and take over what was good and right with those "FAILED ENTITIES" and salvage what can be salvaged and make GOOD SOUND FINANCIAL DECISIONS and MAKE SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF SOMETHING BAD and CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE A NEW JOB AND A NEW HOME THAT THEY CAN AFFORD. I may be mistaken but that I believe is what have made this the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

I have tried to live by the simple advice told to me by a very wise man: "Don't spend more than you earn." But hay, I could be wrong! Just an opinion and you know what they say about opinions!
